Leeds City Council Primary Mathematics Conference and Exhibition 2012 8.00am-4.00pm

The excellent facilities of the Headingley Experience, situated at the world renowned Headingley Stadium in Leeds, have been chosen this year by the Leeds City Council School Improvement Team to host their 2012 Primary Mathematics and Literacy Conferences and Exhibitions.
The Mathematics conference will be a full one-day event with Registration at 8.00am followed by an Introduction and Key Note Speech to be delivered by Louise Matthews. Louise is Head of Every Child Counts (ECC) at Edge Hill University and has over 20 years experience in primary education. In her key note speech,'What's the problem with mathematics?' Louise will consider why some children find mathematics difficult and don't expect to enjoy it, outline the key messages from her current work in mathematics intervention and explore the implications for classroom practice. Delegates are requested to register using the register button to the right of this page, to select three workshop choices from those given and provide their payroll number. Workshops will be allocated on a first come, first served basis and, in the event of a workshop being full, delegates will be asked to choose alternatives. The delegate cost for this Conference is £195 for SLA schools and £225 for non SLA schools and includes lunch and refreshments throughout the day. A 50% discount is available for additional delegates registering at the same time as the first and from the same school. Schools will be invoiced direct from Leeds City Council following registration on this site.
